What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxJacksonville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxJacksonville event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
We invite you to register* for a simulcast viewing of the TED2016 Conference from Vancouver, to be held at Sun-Ray Cinema on Thursday, February 18th. It’s your chance to get a sneak preview of the TED Talks everyone will be talking about!
Dreams matter. And TED2016 will be dedicated to the greatest dreams we are capable of dreaming. It will be an evening to stare hard at humanity’s toughest challenges, and to listen to our greatest thinkers, artists and storytellers. An evening to stir the blood.
We will be showing selected sessions from the conference during our simulcast at Sun Ray Cinema. Admission is $12.50 per person, and includes a voucher redeemable for $12.50 in food and/or beverage purchases from the theater’s delicious menu during the event.
*We highly recommend registering and arriving early. Unclaimed reservations will be given to walk-up guests in order to fill the theater before the session begins. Register and arrive early to check-in, grab food and secure your seat.
