What is TEDx? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxJacksonville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxJacksonville event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Ale’ta Turner

Student Engagement
Ale’ta Turner is a communications professional, entrepreneur and Jacksonville native. She is a proud public education advocate and parent leader. Ale’ta continues to step outside of her comfort zone to see others and the world differently. She has traveled to Dubai and experienced the beauty of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center and the magnificent height of Burj Khalifa. Ale’ta longs to visit Egypt with her husband, Glenn and their three children. Ale’ta serves on the TEDxJacksonville team because she believes it is important to expose Jacksonville’s youth to ideas and issues outside of their community.
