David JohnsonCo-Organizer & Director of Communications
David is a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, proud Stanton grad, University of North Florida Osprey alumnus and a former reporter. He’s currently working on his Masters degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville, focused on public affairs and public policy. He has worked as a staff writer for The Florida Times-Union, as arts and entertainment editor for Folio Weekly magazine and as a pharmacy technician for Mayo Clinic. Currently, he works in public affairs for JAX Chamber, the regional chamber of commerce. He still takes an occasional freelance assignment as a writer and writing coach. David serves as Co-Organizer and Director of Communications for TEDxJacksonville and enjoys volunteering in the community. He has previously volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters Northeast Florida and has served on the Board of Directors for the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus and the Friends of the GTM Reserve in St. Johns County. He is a member of the 2021 class of the FBI Jacksonville Citizens Academy, the 2020 class of the Stein Fellowship, and served in the Blueprint for Leadership program with HandsOn Jacksonville.
