Harolyn Sharpe

Harolyn has been meshing education and drama for 35 years. With degrees in theatre and experience in acting, directing and teaching, she has taught students from elementary school to college level in how to use their voice and body for clearer communication. She has coached and facilitated staff development for elementary and middle school teachers in thirteen Midwestern and Eastern states in how to use the arts in the classroom to engage students in learning and deepen their understanding of content. Harolyn has performed for professional and community theatres, and directed 18 productions for adults and children in community theatres in Kentucky, Indiana, and Florida. She has performed her one-woman show of costumed characters for clubs, conventions, and churches in Florida, Kentucky, Georgia, Indiana and New Jersey. Harolyn has recently retired from teaching at at Florida State College at Jacksonville. She created and directed three Readers Theatre productions for FSCJ. Harolyn is honored to be a part of the TEDx Jacksonville team and contribute to its work through coaching speakers.
